Community Focussed Native Planting in Milldale North

Milldale's Strategic, Civil, and Build Partners join forces for a stunning day in September

As part of Milldale’s annual Community Native Tree Planting Programme, this year’s efforts focussed on the future public recreation area in Milldale North. Located on the northern side of Wainui Rd, and north of the future housing area, the dedicated recreation zone will include native foresting and walkways, plus mountain bike tracks amongst established exotic and native planting.

To get our wider network involved with the opportunity to give a little back to our community, a collection of almost 40 of our build and development partners planted 250 natives, species including pohutukawa, kowhai, ribbonwood and putaputaweta, over two key areas beside streams that feed into the Orewa River. Future planting events will add to these areas over the coming years, and will create ever expanding healthy habitats where native species can thrive.
